Montgomery County, MD Sheriff’s Deputy James Tappen Hall was fatally shot on October, 23 1971. An arrest has been made.
If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.

Montgomery County Police Department is my former municipal department's allied county agency. It's a solid department currently laid low by the county executive and council, the Maryland General Assembly, and the Washington Post. Nonetheless, they've been a proud partner over my career.

Congratulations to the Cold Case Unit and the entire MCPD for closing the oldest cold case murder and until-now the only unsolved murder of a Montgomery County LEO. I certainly hope we see a celebration at Finnegan's Wake.
