    G26-P320 hybrid, JCN style

I am thinking of doing this project.

G26 slide on a G19 frame. Possibly with compensator to make a gun the size of a G19…

My first thought was to take a Pearce extension and hog it out and plastic weld it together with heat to make a base extension.

But it might not be as durable.

So my second thought that I’m going to run with is to start with one of my many lonely G19/23 Gen 2-3 frames as a donor.

Comparing the G26 to the G19s, the frame rail and barrel groove are different.

    So….

Going to try cutting and plastic welding this…

    Into a G19 frame.

If people are interested in this project. Tag with a like or a response and I can be sure to include more details (otherwise I’ll just post up when I’m finished).

    Have Dremel will travel….

JCN, I love you, buddy, but you’re like that kid in the Toy Story movie that mutilates all his toys into unrecognizable monsters. [emoji3]

Keep it up. I really enjoy watching your projects progress.

Option one and option two thoughts

I love problem solving. It’s fun for me.

The brainstorming part is some of the most fun.

    Logic stream of consciousness.

This is kind of how I see it ending up. Compensated G26 slide in a G19 frame. With a red dot of course, but one of my slides is off getting milled.

    From a frame standpoint:

G19.2 frame in middle and Gen4 19 left, 26 right.

Conversion looks reasonable. Trim locking block shorter and put front rails in place. Melting the polymer is in my wheelhouse.

But also while I’m waiting, what about extending the 26 grip?

That also seems like an option.

If there were spare Glock grips available, that would be the easy button. But scrap Glock grips are scarce.

Wait, I have a shit ton of OEM P365 slides for donor polymer…

What if I cut and reshaped the bottom of one and fused it to the bottom…

But it’s a little tight and thin for what I need…

    What else is out there?

    Oh!

    P320 grip modules for under 50 bucks…

    Ordered… I have a slippery G26.3 that could use some stippling anyway…

When you were describing 5he project that's where myind went: adding length seems a lot easier than changing rails and locking blocks

I will probably do it both ways.

Adding length is easier… to add length. But will it be strong enough on gripping?

And then there’s the aesthetics of it as well as potential to have a G19 dust cover and rail.

In the added length version there will be reshaping and stippling required.

In the rail transplant it might actually be less polymer work and look pretty OEM from the outside.

    ATF clarification?

I got suggestion that my proposed frame rail modification could be considered “manufacture” and run amok of ATF standards.

Does anyone have any help or clarification or resource I might be able to ask about this?

Philosophically, modifying the rail isn’t changing the type of firearm this is… but the ATF never had to make sense.

If anyone can help me out before I go down this route why it might be frowned upon, that would be great.

To clarify. I would be using existing serialized frames and not be defacing the existing serial numbers.

The P320 frame would just be to cut part of the bottom to add to the existing G26 frame. Like a welded magwell, if you will.

The frame rail modification would just be relocating the rail rearward a few centimeters, I’m guessing where this would potentially cause issues?

    HELP PF!
