A lot of the times the grass hopper doesn’t just starve; it flies over to the next field and either takes what it wants leaving the owners with nothing, or Timmie’s dad has to go to the surplus store and buy a flame thrower to burn them all alive.

ETA:flame thrower action starts at 13:30 in.

Also, Iirc it was Dan Carlin I heard make the argument that maybe Roosevelt caved on some socialism then, to avoid a full blown socialist/communist revolution.

If we get flamethrowers I retract my opinion

None of those car payments comes close to what I pay in monthly rent right now and we don't live in a hot market out there.

Rent is INSANE in cost in many places now.

I haven't paid <$2000/mo in rent since about 2015. A mortgage would be less than my rent would be in most places.

I doubt any of us here have a clue as to just how pertinent your generator thread is soon to become.

I’m paying out the nose for rent as well. A hair over 2k. Central OH.

Very safe neighborhood sure but nothing fancy. Everything else was about the same so I went with it. Never thought I’d say “can’t wait to buy so my housing cost goes down”.

That depends on how hard things become. People may not like to watch others starve or freeze to death, but if the choice is between their own families and someone else, too bad, so sad, and tough luck.

Or even worse- ever note how often 'resorted to cannibalism' occurs in various historical accounts.

It’s been a little tougher than I thought. I move out here for a huge career boost and I am grateful. We are still getting out ahead vs our last place (Asheville NC) but man like I said, safe area but nothing crazy. I’d describe it as solidly middle class, house is about 1800sqft. They were just all around this price so I opted for the safest of the bunch and tossed in another $100 or so.

Can’t wait to buy, he have been so patient.

Same price around here for the same type of area. My sister's neighborhood is solid middle class, mixed blue/white collar. Mostly younger families. Lots of little kids running around. Great area, clean, quite, no crime. Her neighbors sold their 1500sqft house almost 2 years ago and now it's being rented out for $2500/month!! [emoji15][emoji33]
