Reminds me to some extent of conversations I had at FLETC back in the 80's with FBI and other federal agency trainers in undercover classes about how people are wired when dealing with high stress situations in which they only have part of the say in how things turn out.
I think, as alluded to in the video, that various high stress activities can help promote that clarity of mind that is necessary when the shtf. Climbing, diving, etc...situations where you may have to as calmly as possible address a problem which might only be made worse by your inability to do so.
