J FRAME BIG DOT VS FO

Im curious if anybody has had the 340PD and the M&P 340 and how you felt about the Fiber Optic vs the Big Dot.

I prefer all metal tritium sights but had to go with a fiber optic for my 3" k frame because I needed a lower one then I could get with available tritium sights.

    It'll probably always bother me.

I prefer optic fiber. Using a light in the house or dimly lit place makes the front sight light up like a Christmas tree.

I have a 360 w FO and a 340 M&P w the XS dot. The 340 is a better sight picture as the rear is rounded to match the dot. The fiber on the 360 sort of floats in the square notch and I have to work to remember that the blade should be above the notch but the dot is in it for proper hits.

Dave doesn't do dovetail front sites, he only does sites on pinned front guns.

Irelander, my sight was installed by a local gunsmith who has since retired. I was sad to hear about that as he did excellent work and I haven't found another gunsmith locally who's as good.
