    Bolke on Frank Hamer's guns

    This was very informative.

Made me rewatch Highwaymen. Then I started Boessenecker's Texas Ranger.

Anyone know the status of DB's book?

I saw the thread title and looked in. 47 minutes? Oh hell no. But the topic has my attention so I'll just listen to a little of it. 47 minuntes went by fast. Really good podcast.

Had the same reaction initially, but Daryl had both a cogent thesis and numerous well-reasoned asides that reinforced the core narrative. And it moves fast… Seemed like 15 minutes.

One of the parting comments about transnational drug cartels stuck with me. I did not have the smarts to link Pancho Villa’s Columbus Raid to the present day, but I can sound smart if I use Daryl’s analogy.

And Colt Monitors are still the height of cool. I love the Poles and Swedes taking the BAR and making it into much more useful squad automatic rifles.

Darryl’s lecture on this topic at Revolver Roundup 2021 was a highlight.

47 minutes is kind of long for a YT video, but DB is an engaging speaker and you can run the video at 1.5x (which I do for anything longer than a couple minutes...short attention span ya know).

I've got this one open on another tab and will give it a listen later.

I thought it would be too long as well, but Bolke kept it interesting and I enjoyed it in its entirety.

I don’t watch many youtube videos, but I went to the podcast, it’s the Guns Magazine Podcast Episode 111. I listen to hours worth of various podcasts daily, when I’m driving, doing yard work, cleaning up around the house. Being longer than 47 minutes would have suited me fine, but they covered the information thoroughly and succinctly.

Any time DB pops up on a podcast it is a must listen for me.

There is a spot on my coffee table that is waiting for it.
