Glock Guide rod/spring

Changing my SSP Glock 17 into ESP. Added a new Wolff metal guide rod and got the redeced recoil spring calibration pack. Question: how light of a spring can I use shooting CCI 147gr factory ammo? I have shot the 17, 15, and 14 lb springs in the gun and really like how the 14 lb one feels. If its too light, can't it damage the locking block area of the frame? How can I check to see exactly how far back it is going?

The 13# spring is a very common spring in 17s and 34s.

I've heard of many complaints of sluggish lockup with the 11#.
