It sure is. This is why I enjoy science (and her 'hot' sister, mathematics) so much.
When I started this little side project, I was expecting a considerably 'less than stellar' correlative analyses since the FEA software relies on some fairly complex partial differential equations to handle the dynamic rate-dependent variables that would likely 'out-perform' the closed-form Q-model and mTHOR equations. The 'icing on the cake' is the nearly perfect agreement of the Q-model and mTHOR equations with the experimental ordnance gelatin data.
