Sad reminder of days gone by

I wonder what a gallon of gas cost when I bought this?

I found these relics while cleaning the garage. I also saw some primers marked at $21.50 a thousand, five pounds of Unique I hadn’t put with the others yet, and a pound of 748 priced at $26.50.

I have a couple of containers of IMR 3031 and a partial container of Hercules 2400. I purchased them at Big Buck Sports , a full service firearm and sporting good store in Hattiesburg, MS around 1992.

I've used the 3031 several years ago experimenting with home cast and powder coated rounds for 7.62x39.
I loaded some 158 gr jacketed .357 rounds with the 2400 about 2 years ago.

The price on the 2400's "Big Buck" sticker is faded. The 3031 looks to be $16.95. I wish I had more of this...

    Gasoline was around $1.15-$1.25/gal iirc

Had to smile at the film tubes. I brought back some black sand of Iwo Jima in those. Try that with your smart phone!

    I want to say mid-late '80s was about $10/pound.

My 11-yo grandson is staying with us while he goes to a local theatre camp.

When I went to pick him up yesterday, they had three pick up spots designated by a sign with the picture of an object. One had a fax machine and another a cassette deck.

I heard a counselor with a bullhorn say something like “Susie, go to the tape recorder.”

When another one passed by my open window, I had to ask “Do you really expect the parents, much less the kids, to know what those things are?”

During vehicle stop practicals, I've had to explain to student officers that the little black thingie with the (usually) grey cap was a cannister to put rolls of 35mm film in.
Adding nothing to the conversation since 2015....
