Any accomplishments with an rds pistol to further warrant this debate with you. Not an attack, just wondering.
I think you do a great service for the RDS and pistol community so also, I don’t want you to feel like this is a counterattack.

And I think a mini-wave is fine. Like a 5-10 MOA wave. Dropping out of the window induces muzzle cross and that decreases stability. You can get away with it close up but it’ll start hurting you when you want more accuracy.

I also think it’s fine to teach beginners that way.

So for me, I’m a USPSA carry optics GM.
My 5 yard open draws are 0.60 or so.
I also goof around with some of the online standards.

Did the Tier 1 three sevens cold.
Vice card challenge on third attempt.
    SCAT 200 points, blah blah.

I have a pretty fast and refined index.

    Here are some video highlights.

    @AsianJedi

I’ll try and make a video later today regarding wave mechanic concerns.

Basically it comes down to muzzle rotation nearing trigger press and how that affects stability and accuracy.

Speed is not the question, it’s the accuracy at speed.

Stability of muzzle on press out versus dot drop.

I encourage people to slow mo video their muzzles on full speed presentation and see how much stability (or not) they have. That dictates your ultimate accuracy at speed.

A friend sent me this from Ben Stoeger’s Instagram

I take it to support developing straight draw index over wave type things since Stoeger is a big proponent of index (as are most high level gamers).

Wave I think is fine up to B/A level but it’ll ultimately hold you back from getting more accurate at speed (because physics re muzzle stability).
