Installing Dawson FS on a GP100

Has anyone in the hive done this?

I can’t get mine to seat fully.

I’ve tried filling a tiny bit off the ass-end of the tenon, but I’m afraid of removing too much.

I’ve never owned a GP100, but have filed sights. Since the GP100 system appears very simple, I’d swipe the front portion of the sight once, try to install, and repeat until it drops in.

Turned out the tenon was .006 thicker than the original. After knocking a little off the sides and a little more of the tail, it’s almost there. It’s so tight IDK if I can get it out. I may have to just shoot it and make sure it doesn’t come flying off or shoot way low.

Been there, done that. Used a good set of needle files, some of which had safe sides... and went slow.

Eventually I got the thing to where it would just go into position and latch in place, and I stopped removing metal (there is always an easy solution for removing metal, but not always one for adding it).

Maybe ten minutes (tops) touching things up with some Brownell's Oxpho-Blue and I called it good.
