Josh, that sounds terrible. My wife was once racing in a NORBA downhill race at Mount Snow, stuck her nose wheel into a mud patch, and went from about 30 to 0, up and over the handlebars, arresting her momentum by landing on her head, splitting a full face shield helmet, knocking herself unconscious. This rad biking stuff is dangerous, probably even more so than an IDPA match.
Likes pretty much everything in every caliber.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, dude. Hit me up if you need anything.
I don't want to jinx myself, but I've been doing that dangerous sport for more than 30 years and still haven't ended up in the ER from it. It's like anything, you mitigate as much of the risk as possible and then pray to some form of patron saint figure for the remaining % risk.
Also I'm a trail rider not a bike park gnar couch guy. I'm the type that gnar couch listeners make fun of.

Yes, SPEEDY RECOVERY!!!
Thanks for all the work you do!!!
I was in the gnarlies yesterday, wadded up and ate shit (first time on my new bike). Luckily my speed was low so a scratched up elbow is all I have to worry about.

1. Yeah, you were going 20 mph, but how much air did you catch?
2. Rest up, get well.
3. Thanks for all the work that you and your organization do.
4. Hopefully you can get on that bike sometime soon. I cracked a helmet about 15 years ago (feels like yesterday). Nothing as bad as what you are describing, but I certainly had a mild concussion. It took me a while to get back into it.
Edited to add: my worst crashes have happened when I wasn't catching air -- the worst are the one's you don't see coming.
