My guess is a Model 57 or 27.

Maybe the later version of the 38/44 Outdoorsman but I don't remember the model number for those.

Those are all awesome additions. I've always been fond of the M58; consider that to be an 'M&P on steroids'. Yours is one of the nicest I've seen in quite some time.

    Congrats!

    Great guesses! But nope.
And the actual model number of the 38/44 Outdoorsman is the Model 23. This got me started on collecting, I mean acquiring, Smith and Wesson revolvers! https://pistol-forum.com/showthread....ighlight=Model

But, let’s see if anyone can guess what N Frame I acquired:
It’s Blue, it’s Square Butt and it’s kinda similar to one of the other three, but not as old; I’d say it’s relatively old. I can give out a few more hints based on your guesses.

Why the game, you ask? We’re in some sort of Triple H heat wave here on Long Island, and I tried to get some pictures outside. Problem is, the humidity is so high, that the gun will “sweat” (like my glasses!) when I take it out of the house, and it will not be photogenic! And for this N Frame, it would be a disservice…
    Model 520?

    My guess is a 520.

The fixed sight 38/44 Heavy Duty was re-named the model 20 when S&W switched from names to model numbers.

The 38/44 outdoorsman was renamed the model 23.
