I always thought hydrogen was hyper explosive. Turns out thats not exactly correct.

Hydrogen is no more or less dangerous than other flammable fuels, includ*ing gasoline and natural gas. In fact, some of hydrogen’s differences actually provide safety benefits compared to gasoline or other fuels.

While not a revolutionary level of efficiency, it's good progress.
NuScale says these numbers mean that correctly deployed nuclear modules could compete with existing solutions like solar hydrogen plants

Here, too, another step forward, but, an expensive one using palladium as a co-catalyst.

Theres progress being made in all kinds of areas. Once you start reading about it it seems one discovery leads to another interesting subject.

Heres another article you might like.

    Absolutely.

Even back in the 80's, and even as a non-lover of nuclear power, it seemed a perfect match to use reactor waste heat, plus the electricity generated onsite and store all of that energy as Hydrogen. Simple to say, less simple to do, I suppose. Since we've still not done it yet, >35 years later.

I think it is the whole storage of hydrogen using an illegal substance (nuclear weapon part), thing that makes it problematic.
