Anyone messed with the Primary Arms RS-10?

    https://www.primaryarms.com/primary-...ight-3-moa-dot

These have been out for a minute. Has anyone messed with one? I may order one to try on the Prodigy. I believe the PA shares the same footprint as the Hex.

The Doktor / Noblex footprint is a major negative.

Probably the only thing that could make me buy one would be having a new Springfield double stack 1911 and having the doctor/nobles/hex plate be only optics plate available..

In which case anything PA would have to be better than the SA Hex.

    Yupp. That's why I'm asking.

It does seem pretty odd (aka dumb ass move) that PA chose this footprint. I guess the same goes for Springfield.

I recall the doctor footprint is popular in Europe.

Here’s a list of RDS which use that footprint:

Red dot sights that share this mounting standard:

    ADE Advanced Optics RD3-002 Footprint
ADE Advanced Optics RD3-006A Huracan Footprint
    ADE Advanced Optics RD3-006B Huracan
    ADE Advanced Optics RD3-009 Crusader

    * These red dot sights have a Docter/Noblex mounting standard, but the adapter supplied with them has wider threaded sockets than adapters suited for a Docter/Noblex mounting standard. Consequently, thicker screws are enclosed. You can mount these red dots on an adapter designed specifically for the Docter/Noblex mounting standard, but you will not be able to use the screws supplied with them – thinner screws are needed.

I don’t think a single one of those dots would be in the “duty use” category.

I don’t think the SA DS 1911 would be in the duty use category either.

Doesn’t the old Insight MRDS from the mid 2000s SOCOM kit use the Doctor optic footprint ? The one they put on top of Elcan optics.

Given the price point, I am thinking I should get one of these for my new 22/45 project.

    That battery door looks burly!

I bought one to use on an older Glock 17 slide which has a doctor III. The RS-10 doesn’t fit the cut.
I ordered a Prodigy yesterday so when it shows up, I thought I might give it a try until I get an optic
Plate for a Holosun from Springfield. Assuming it fits. The sight itself seems pretty decent from what
I can see. Hopefully I will have more to report next weekend.

The optic seems to check alot of boxes. Fairly small and light yet with a fairly large window. 2032 battery as opposed to the 1632 from Holosun and SIG. The larger screw and swing out door should also be a little handier than the Holosun.

Then there's the pesky Doctor footprint. Would it really have been that hard to go RMR here? Or even DP?

This late into the game they probably should have just gone closed emitter. Is there an oddball enclosed emitter footprint PA could have used?
