127 FPS is certainly an extreme spread.

I’m guessing that the 915fps velocity of the first gel shot wasn’t a typo or chrono error then. That doesn’t engender much trust in the QC to my mind.

It was not a typo, and I think the reading from the chrony was correct. It would also explains why it expanded much more and penetrated the least.
