Makes perfect sense. I'd think someone doing this sort of testing would want to inspect the brass for further evaluation. Why would someone need to light off 50+ rounds when the first five or so would probably disclose issues? In any event it's annoying when folks don't at least sweep up their brass, proof or otherwise.
Proof has historically been 150% SAAMI maximum pressure/max load. With the advent of some polymer pistols, I’ve been seeing more of the 125% max load as referenced above, but “Proof” should be taken to mean 150% SAAMI spec.
You can get much more of what you want with a kind word and a gun, than with a kind word alone.
Yeah, Ya might want to skip that brass for reloading!!
