YOU are alone and who are trained as a emergency care physician, EMT, or prepper w/appropriate medical first responder training, just double tapped your SD handgun to stop a perceived threat from an individual 15 feet away, you reasonably believed was about to render 'great bodily harm' or cause 'death' to you personally...

do you render aid?

or

maintain your distance & stand your ground?

so whom do you call first...911 -- your attorney -- a friend?

if 911 - what to you tell them?

where will responders find you at the scene?

Not in my lane but got it in a professional feed and thought it might interest some of you.

Below applies to a CONUS "normal" context.
Comes up a lot in active shooter/MCI training and exercises - more than ever with RTF/TEMS push out to line troops.
Paper over-emphasizes discussion of triage in SWAT-medic/doc context.
Using priorities of life (POL) assumes correct identification of patients.
Integrity of the medicine says what, not who.
POL and triage algorithms needn't be mutually exclusive. POL doesn't categorize, but can color within a category or help in competing resources.
It's tough to move on from a friend/fam/scared kiddo/innocent to the next person to get the work done.
For those actively working, it's also prudent to choose public words wisely.
