I was given these yesterday.. I was helping my GF and her cousin clean out their late aunts house. I found the shotgun in a closet, in a gun rug where it probably sat for the last 30-40 years.. I also found the security six in another closet under some sheets.. The Ruger appears to have been fired very little. The shotgun was used, but well taken care of. I had done a bunch of work around the late aunts house, and this was my payment..

Very cool. That's an old Browning humpback looks like. Might it be in 16 gauge?

That is a find and worth some money, even if the wood looks a bit rough.

Nice bit of payment! The Security Six looks just like the one I have from my late pop. Any idea of manufacture date?

Browning A-5s are such classy things.

I’ll have to run the serial number on Ruger’s site, but according to my GF’s cousin, it was bought by her dad sometime in the 70’s to replace a 1911 that got stolen in a burglary. The A-5 from what I can find out, was made in 1958. My GF, and her cousin are unsure who it belonged to, as all of their aunts and uncles have passed away.

ETA: I checked over at Ruger, and it appears that the Security Six was made in 1977..

The highlighted word and the definition aka thread title, was what I was afraid this thread was about. Sorry for the loss of the family member.

I’m showing my lack of knowledge here, but what is a POW stock?
