    Rondel Dagger

An early 14th century english Rondel Dagger, by Leo Todeschini (Tods Workshop).
The ten-inch blade is deeply hollow ground, with a thick triangular shaped spine.
The hilt is of composite construction using horn and bronze. A handy, stabby, stabby thing.

    Very nice!

I enjoy watching Tod's Workshop. I don't even want to ask what a custom piece from him would run.

The exchange rate isn't kind to us on this side of the pond. This one's a bit over $850 once shipping's factored in.

When I looked at the photos I thought it was priced way higher than that.

Tod provides a lot for the price. But, when you compare the price in pounds sterling, make the conversion and add international shipping it can be a bit sobering. On the other hand, if you were dealing with the typical flakey US smith high on his own supply you'd pay more.

Is that from his higher end line and not the more budget friendly “tods cutler” line? Do you have any experience with the Cutler line?

I’ve been looking at his rondell daggers and the messer on his Tod’s cutler page for a while and haven’t been able to justify the purchase yet, and your not helping me not spend money.

This is one of his higher end pieces, but I've owned several from the Cutler line. They don't have some of the detailing of his more expensive work, obviously, but they are solid. I still own a Cutler Rondel that's no longer in the line. Others have come and gone, but I like that one.

I’ve spent too much time browsing the Tods Workshop website today.

@Trooper224 this seemed the best place for these videos, hope you don’t mind me posting them in your thread.

Matt Easton stabbing things with one of Tod’s Rondell daggers

Tod building the dagger and then a video of him taking it to the museum and comparing it to the original.
