    In regards to claims in the video, I think examining police agencies who had Min-14's and actually shot them regularly would pretty clearly demonstrate there is a significant durability gap between the Mini-14 and the AR platform. And the lack of support from the company didn't help that problem, either.

    Greg Ellifritz was an armorer for a department that used the Mini-14. He curses them at every opportunity because they broke a lot and he couldn't get parts to fix them. He is not the first credible person I've heard say that.

    Mini 14s are in the same class as the Remington 7400: a handy semi-auto rifle that is suited for short-range still hunting where you sight in with a box of ammo and shoot a couple of animals every year.

    It was a mistake to ever take them seriously as a LE or .mil rifle.
    I was into 10mm Auto before it sold out and went mainstream, but these days I'm here for the revolver and epidemiology information.
