    Steiner MPS Issues

Hey Guys, I got a Steiner MPS and put it on my Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS. It was stellar for 1200 rounds. Then something got loose in it. Fortunately Steiner answered my call and immediately took care of me. I'm receiving my new one tomorrow. I'm not hearing anybody else having issues, so I think I just got "lucky." If you want many of the details, they're in videos, but that is the short story.

As reported in the main Steiner thread, I had one that wouldn't hold zero in windage.

Here is the existing thread on the MPS which @GJM referenced.

Most common issue is the MPS footprint is not a 100% match to the ACRO footprint. It’s close enough to fit but there have been some fit/retention issues.

I seem to recall Jeff at Tango Down saying they needed to make a very slight change to their plate to optimally accommodate the MPS. In my case, the problem with holding windage was observed on multiple pistols using different mounts. Steiner replaced the optic, but I haven't had a chance to install and test it.

I will reach out to them to find out more - I have a FCD version TD plate on my MOS, and if there’s been a running change I want to be sure I have it.

Well, good news, Steiner got me back a brand new sight today, 9 days after I initially shipped the old one out. I haven't mounted it yet, so no word on it turning on, zeroing, or anything else. But at least the warranty turnaround was exceptional.

Replacement optic has gone 2500+ rounds with no issues. I'm happy with the optic and the service.

Returning my first Steiner MPS - took it out to bring to the range this weekend, and the optic was dead. Tried swapping batteries and I went through the lockout procedure on the phone with the rep to make sure I did not accidentally lock out the controls. Getting an RMA from Steiner was painless though they don’t pay for shipping…

Optic had about 600 rounds on a G17 Gen5 / FCD plate and the Apex Claw.

This sounds like what happened with mine. Fairly low round count, no hard abuse. It worked fine one day and didn't work at all the next.
