This reinforces several lessons I have been pounding for decades.
1. The WalMart parking lot is among the most dangerous places a typical non-drug-dealing private citizen ever goes.
2. Security cameras have NO effect on your safety. They help the police figure out what happened a day ago.
3. You are on your own. No one is coming to save you.
I carry everywhere legal and avoid where I can't.
Strive to carry the handgun you would want anywhere, everywhere; forget that good area bullcrap.
"Wouldn't want to / Nobody volunteer to" get shot by _____ is not indicative of quickly incapacitating.
Me too. I carry an M&P compact and usually have a 14 or 15 rnd mag in it. A couple of months ago I started carrying a spare 17 rnd mag also.

Sometimes a reminder is what we need. My wife was just in a bad situation after a car accident, this reinforced my mind set of " no one is coming to help you, you are on your own." When a dangerous situation hits close to home it is an eye opener. Bad things can happen at any time and any place.
