Bruce Willis Diagnosed with Aphasia

I know there are a lot of 'Die Hard' fans around. From a statement on Instagram:

To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities. As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.

This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.

As Bruce always says, “Live it up” and together we plan to do just that.

Aphasia is a disorder that results from damage to portions of the brain that are responsible for language. For most people, these areas are on the left side of the brain. Aphasia usually occurs suddenly, often following a stroke or head injury, but it may also develop slowly, as the result of a brain tumor or a progressive neurological disease. The disorder impairs the expression and understanding of language as well as reading and writing.

At the early age of 67 ( plus …. problems most likely occurred at an earlier age).

For most Hollywood idiots you would be correct. I haven’t seen anything from him that makes me lump him in with the likes of DeNiro, Rufalo, Nielsen and others of their ilk.

This is not a good sign. I knew that he had a stutter growing up. If he truly has aphasia (communication/read/write/understand disorder) vs something like dysarthria (speaking disorder), it is likely he has some degenerative neurological disease. Weird because he just made 6 straight to Netflix movies (all bad) in 2021 and like 6 are in post production this year. The last movie he was in that I liked was R.E.D.

RED is a good movie. I think most of us here on pistol forum relate to the character he played in the first Die Hard movie.
