New Holster For My 617

I made this over the weekend. It's for my 617 because I like carrying on my belt instead of having to cart around another bigger shooting bag. My 617 has been worked over a lot with a complete action job as per Jerry Miculek's video. I also cut the forcing cone to 11 º.

Trigger pull right now is set at 8 pound so I can shoot any ammo in this gun. If I stay with Federal BYOB I can get away with 6.5 pounds. Yes, I play with the strain screw and use Loctite to keep it from moving.

I use a stock mainspring and was shooting with an 11 pound rebound spring but I have a 13 on order. I outran the trigger a couple of times last week at our Steel Challenge Match so I'm going to fix that.

I truly enjoyed the match. Lots of old friends in my squad and almost everyone was 70 or older. Wow can we remember our better runs. Most of the stories were lies but it was great hearing all of them.
