You are prepared, but are you camel attack prepared?

Deputies had to shoot a camel in Tennessee petting zoo after it got loose and killed two people.

@Clusterfrack you’ve been right all along.

Two people are dead after a camel attack at a petting zoo in Tennessee, according to authorities.

The deadly incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, at Shirley Farms in Obion, Tennessee, the sheriff’s office announced in a news release.

Deputies responded to a call of a “loose” camel in the area and arrived to find “two unconscious victims on the ground.”

Both succumbed to their injuries and died at the scene, authorities said.

That’s nightmarish. Except the camel shooting part. I would enjoy that.

I've always wondered whether these guys thought about what the camel could do to them. I've had horses nip at me because I did something they apparently didn't like while riding them, I'd hate to think what a pissed of camel could do, as is obviously illustrated by the tragic deaths of the two folks the thread is about.
Adding nothing to the conversation since 2015....

I had a herd of angry Bactrian camels try trample me in the desert on a moonlit night. It wasn’t something I’ll ever forget.

    They also bite.

Bring it, camels. I dream about shooting camels in the head.

(merging the other camel-related posts on the Bull Goring thread.)

    Yes they do.

The man told the Times of India: 'The animal lifted him by the neck and threw him on to the ground, chewed the body and severed the head.'

Animals bites are common with wild animals but attack from an otherwise calm animal like camel is unusual and unexpected. They may cause a severe kind of maxillofacial injury which ranges from minor lacerations to total loss of soft and hard tissues. Such incidences are frequently seen in Rajasthan, India where camels are kept as a pet. Present study throws light on literature related to animal bite injuries and their management along with our experience with camel bite injuries.

I’m pretty sure that truck stop zoos fall into the stupid places category.
