    Thanks for clarifying.

Montana Bullet Works does a nice job. Unfortunately it looks like he's dropped a couple 9mm bullets. He had a 140gr LSWC that shot well for me.

I assume he still has the mold and would use it with a large enough order.

On a somewhat related note I would also give a shout out to Matt's Bullets. He is quick with shipping usually and also makes a nice bullet.

I'm a long time customer of MBW. I get my black powder cartridge rifle bullets from them. Excellent quality, service, and they offer the option of SPG black powder lube.

I also have started buying my 38 Special bullets from them, a 150g WFN GC. I can drive them to +P+ velocity with zero leading and excellent accuracy. I have more confidence in the wide flat nose than 38 HPs. They will get another order from me shortly.

Loaded up a few spreads using the #358156 and the #356429. The #156 has 2400 from 10.5gr thru 12.5gr. The #429s have 2400 @ 12.5gr and 13.0 and Unique @ 6.0gr and 6.5. They seem a bit feisty, but the data I have is from multiple sources...we’ll see how it goes. Nickel cases so I’m assured I only put them in N frames and not a K.

Well this was a tad disappointing. Finally got the opportunity to shoot the Montana slugs. Even with the caveat of “not feeling it” yesterday, the results leave lots of room. 3” groups at 15yds is no bueño. My M27 doesn’t seem to like lead very much. I’ve never slugged it. Maybe I should. It makes nice groups with pretty much anything 158gr jacketed. Does so-so with the 158gr SWC from Matt’s at about 5.0-5.3gr Unique. Maybe I’m just pushing them too hard out of the .38 brass...

Back to the drawing board I guess....

...or maybe not hard enough? Six grains duplicates the old .38/44 HD load and runs ~1070 fps from my M28-2 4". Just keep it out of your .38s, it's a bit too stout for them.

I might fiddle with 6-6.5 Unique with the 358429 a bit more. Looks like I might be able to get something. I’ve never had luck with 2400 ever. I don’t have much left, which is good I guess. I have enough Unique to burn it as incense at my funeral tho.

Is there a day during the week that is best to check to see if they have inventory? I've been checking their website for close to 5 months waiting for them to restock the 200 gr JFP for .45 ACP.
