    Any Experience with the Stopbox?

I saw an advert for the StopBox on FB and checked it out. Its entirely made of plastic and the lock looks even simpler to defeat than a Simplex. That said, I kind of like the concept for the times my pistol isn't on my hip. Wondering if any PFers have tried one?

A friend has one. He said it’s a useful deterrence but that’s about all its good for. He said he wouldn’t waist the money on another.

It’s a pretty hip idea. But, I couldn’t shoulder the cost for what you get.

Must cost an arm and a leg.
There's nothing civil about this war.

I don’t know what he paid for it. But he said if you really wanted to defeat it it would be easy numerous ways. Either through just how many variations of the lock. Or he feels like just a simple hammer with a chisel to the lock area. But I guess that’s what you get for one of these style strong boxes.

I rely on batteries for a lot of other important things.

I don’t really understand the product’s purpose, but obviously people are buying them.

If my gun isn’t on me it’s secured and this doesn’t provide any security. I don’t have a need to lay my gun around in a plastic box.

I guess it could be used as a carrying case to transport a handgun, but seems expensive for that and less secure than just a MTM type case with a couple small padlocks.

Its a rare occasion when PF advice leads me to NOT spend money! Thanks to all for the input.
