This was a new issue that I wasn’t aware of. I actually discovered it while I was indoors dry firing. This is not the double dot sun glare issue. The optic is taped in the video and what happens is the sun shines(through a window) down and on the emitter and distorts the dot causing a huge mass like thing to appear. In the video the difference in the actual dot and the mass is discernible but in real life it is just very distorted. The sun is coming down at an angle like this into the emitter. You can see the light on my hand.

It takes a perfect angle of light to make it happen but it is possible.

@JCN made me aware that some people create a hood over the emitter with a paster. I did this and it resolved the issue.
