My order is on hold? WTF?

Edit - Ah, they do order verification on optics. Processing now, hopefully it will ship today.

No. The EPS and EPScarry use the RMSc/407k footprint. See this for general reference:

The great thing about standards is there's so many to choose from.

    LOL.

I read somewhere that they chose the 407/507 footprint because of how far to the rear the mounting screws are. They HAD to be that far back to account for the enclosed emitter design, so their options were kind of limited. An RMR footprint would have been nice, but it wasn’t a good fit. Gotta work with what you’ve got!

I’m a little concerned that they still show “processing” and are now out of stock.

I certainly hope they ship asap.

Checked this morning and the EPS Carry Red 6 (one I'm fishing for) is listed as "Pre-order" at $329.99.

When I called them yesterday morning to ask about the “on hold” status, the guy first said they were preorder only. (Mine’s a full size 6 MOA red.) I pointed out that the website very clearly stated on stock, so he checked and confirmed they had them. He also said mine was being allocated. I sure hope that’s true, because I don’t want to fight them for a refund.

This thing about accepting a paid order and then putting it on hold until they talk to you on the phone is a bit strange, especially since I’m an existing customer who had an order as recently as last week. If it’s going to the billing address, what’s the issue? And who knows when they would have gotten around to calling me (I called them.)

This is like being impatient for the latest iPhone release.

It’ll come, what you currently have is good enough anyway and the next generation will be better.

Holosun has delayed releasing new optics (e.g. red SCS) when they didn't meet requirements. I think that's a good thing. Compare that with some other companies (e.g. rhymes with Pig) that sell any product no matter how flawed. I'm not sure that's the cause here, but I'm happy to cut them some slack given the great designs they've been putting out.

My issue isn’t with the manufacturer, it’s with the odd sales policies of this dealer. And hopefully it’s not even an issue in the end.
