Did I Miss This Here? New Winchester Ranger .22 Lever Action

Typical SHOT Show, one or two new guns draw all the attention. I just saw a small mention of this tonight.

Warning: It sounds too good to be true. It resembles the 9422, which is/was a pretty nice rifle.
But retail is supposed to be under $400.

As I said, too good to be true. It has to be made somewhere foul. Winchester has a couple of .22s that are made in Turkey, and that's where I'd guess this comes from.
I could be wrong, and hope I am.

Winchester has been using some Turkish made shotguns lately so maybe....

Just have to wait for more details I guess.

Still might consider it if the quality is good and the price is right. I didn't see any info on accepting a scope though.

Might this be better than your basic Henry .22 lever?

Looks very comparable to the Henries, both with the same tube loading system... but one is made in the US, and one in Turkey. I like Austrian pistols and Chinese Holosuns and Streamlights, but given a side by side equivalent choice, an imported competitor either needs to be a lot better or a lot cheaper.

That to me is a hell of a good question.

I think most people would pick a Henry. I don’t like Henrys as much as most people seem to like them. They simply never appealed to me.
On the other hand, I would have a real tough time buying any product from an Islamic state like Turkey.

I don't expect Ranger to be any better than Henry's Classic or Small Game. The price is essentially the same, and the quality will be the same. That said, Winchester made Ranger a takedown, which is a plus. It comes apart like Marlin 39A, making action exposed. But it's not a downside for me, I can wrap it into an old pillow case.

It looks to have the same grooved receiver that the original 9422 had.

I believe this is an example of what you need to mount a scope. (Not sure, you'll want to verify, I never mounted a scope to mine.)
