Number 4 is a surprise for me...

One thing to consider some of those calibers are very difficult to get in the LGS or There is not much variety in the LGS.

One also must consider at only 1/10 of one percent a caliber could be skewed up or down by the sale of just a few boxes

Also, people tend to not buy 44 magnum in bulk

Am I the only one asking what this list is actually demonstrating? The number of searches run by caliber? If so, how much does this really tell us in the grand scheme of things? Sure, we know 9mm is king but other than that these calibers are all so insignificant they may as well all be the same.

Sometimes buying factory loaded ammo is the only practical way to get brass for reloading. That is the case with .30 Super Carry

    Yep.

.460 S&W Mag, .327 Federal Mag, and .38 Super Auto are ranked higher than .30 Super Carry this morning.

EDIT: Oops, .454 Casull just bumped .30 Super Carry off the list of top 20 handgun cartridges. Maybe, better luck tomorrow.

.30 Super Carry is definitely more popular than .38 Long Colt and .30 Luger...now...in the United States...I think.

There has been much speculation concerning larger-capacity magazines in .30 Super Carry and also parts interchangeability with 9x19mm firearms.

Around 7 minutes into this video, 50-round quad-stack magazines in both cartridges are compared

36 minutes into this interview, Rob Pincus announces that Avidity Arms has redesigned the PD10 magazine follower to work with either 10 rounds of 9mm or 12 rounds of .30 Super Carry

He claims that the new follower actually improved performance in both calibers.

Similarly, Chris Laack recently mentioned on a podcast that lessons learned during the development of the .30 Super Carry cartridge could lead to "even better" 9mm
