IMHO, they have been losing some market share to Holosun, Sig Optics, Primary Arms, Vortex, etc for some time now, mainly because of their price point. This seems to be a marginally improved product with a little lower price point to compete with the competition. Every so often capture peoples believing with something new and rinse and repeat. I personally would have liked to have seen something with a ** larger square viewing window ** like the Holosun AEMS RDS. The Holosun AEMS (sight only) weight just .1 oz more than this new Aimpoint RDS.

Timely, given I was looking at T2s this morning. Curious about the footprint and whether it will work with T2 mounts such as a Scalarworks LEAP01 1.93. Of course, by the time I bought this and a Scalarworks mount I’m saving less than $150 off the T2/LEAP combo. Hmm…
Hmmm. Cowitness on a CROM equipped 1301T?

Which is why I haven’t replaced my Holosun 515GM with an Aimpoint. I’m a somewhat normal earthling not paid to go into harm’s way and can’t justify the cost. I have a T1 and like it well enough and have no complaints with the Holosun. Besides, I generally shoot my carbines with LPVOs more than my 11.5” with the dot.

Mentions absolute co-witness, unsure of other mounting options.
