Watching, but what’s with calling the rocket performance “nominal”? Sound like he sound be saying “optimal”, then again, I’m not a rocket surgeon so what do I know?

Last week the Science Channel or Discovery followed up an all day marathon of "How the Universe Works" narrated by Mike Rowe with a two hour special on the Hubble and an hour long show on the James Webb Space Telescope. I only caught parts of it, because I was fighting my usual insomnia. So I waited for the madatory rebroadcast and DVR'd it. I can't wait to watch it this weekend.

    Thanks for the heads up!
Always awesome to watch space launches.

Interesting timing launching a tool that can see to the Big Bang on Christmas day. Interesting.

Considering the efforts and cost it took to build the JWST, I'll bet that there were a lot of NASA folks with their hearts in their throats this morning.

One sad thing about the Hubble is that, with the Shuttles being retired a decade ago, they can't retrieve it. For all the stunning science it's done, it deserves to go to a museum instead of a fiery death.

    Looks like a successful launch.
We could isolate Russia totally from the world and maybe they could apply for membership after 2000 years.

    Made it.
I forwarded the announcement to a friend who worked on the mirrors. He is very proud but he also has berylliosis.

Hubble is supposed to be in service for another decade or two, so that should be plenty of time.

    Away, away, away, down.......
Now I want to see it successfully deploy/unfold itself and start sending back images.
