Just moved to the Bluegrass state in Lexington metro area. Any good ranges (pistol/rifle/clays) near by you all recommend? Also in need of some minor ar-15 gunsmithing for castle nut torquing/staking, etc. - anyone good around here?

Bluegrass Sportsmen's League. Great place. They have many big USPSA matches here. They have had IDPA and GSSF too.
I lived in Winchester. I was a member at the Montgomery County Fish and Game club. They only open membership early in the year. Show up, set your own targets, shoot, clean up. Most of the time I had the pistol bay to myself. It was a great place to shoot how I wanted to practice practical pistol. I miss it, but moved away.
Bud's guns (great store) in Lexington has a small range. I think they do mini USPSA, IDPA, and GSSF stuff.
Practice at MCF&G, compete at Bud's. I never got to shoot at Bluegrass Sportsmen League but it sounds like a great place if it's closer.
I have never been to this one but the area rep for IDPA lists this as his home club. It is a little south of Lexington.

I have used this group as a gunsmith. No complaints

As previously mentioned Bud’s has a nice indoor range. They host many events there.
Bluegrass Sportsman’s League is also good.
The wife and I flew out to Louisville this past weekend to look at homes in the 25-50 mile ring around Louisville, emphasizing Bourbon country and Bardstown area. We liked the area! But of the homes we saw in person, did not see any 10+ acre, nice house, big garage, workshop, privacy homes that fit us. Yet. Still looking.
I forgot to ask the realtor about shooting ranges in the area. Saw lots of deer sign, and a fair amount of hunters.
