AAC 51t mount in stock: unobtanium alert

I have an AAC M4-2000 can that uses a 51t ratchet mount.

But because of the AAC bankruptcy with Remington, the mounts were scrapped and unobtanium.

Happened to Google around today on a whim and found Capitol Armory supposedly has a bunch for 5.56 at less than MSRP.

I ordered three. I think this will be the last of them so get them if you can.

FYI, you can also simply replace the mounting system, so that it uses KeyMo, Cherry Bomb, SureFire, etc.

Not on the AAC you can't.
We could isolate Russia totally from the world and maybe they could apply for membership after 2000 years.

It is my understanding that there are third party machine shops that can happily do that for you. For example: https://eccomachine.net/

Their work on an M4-2000: https://www.reddit.com/r/NFA/comment...eymo_mount_by/

Yes that is true but you use the word simply. It's not a simple as screwing in a new adapter.

Fair enough. I had used "simply" because I find sending it off to a shop and just waiting to be far more convenient and better use of my time than hunting around for a subpar mount, since I'm just spending time and money, but pretty minimal effort. That being said, I can definitely see how one could have interpreted my words to what you were saying, that it's not a simply CotS mount swap.

Thanks guys! I spent 5 min searching for mounts two years ago and 2 min searching yesterday.

I have a 7.62 Rugged Razor with a bunch of different adapters that I use for swapping around different guns but I’m happy to have an easy and cheap solution.

I’m a very light use rifle guy so subpar is fine with me since I don’t need it to do much and it’s worked well for what I use it for. I also own a bunch of Harbor Freight tools because sometimes good enough is good enough!

So today I was at the range and I was getting blow back out the back of the can through gaps in the mount and I was thinking, “oh shit, that’s what he was saying about a sub-par mount!”

But I thought back to when this mount and suppressor were new. No blow back.

I think I’ve determined that it was due to build up on the mounting mating surfaces so that it didn’t seal well or properly.

I CLP and wire brushed it.

And to take a skill over from my 300 blk modifications ran a thin bead of silicone in a small syringe to help seal gaps as well.

Will see how that works when dry but I think it should take care of it.

No experience with this company (and currently OOS) but he makes a 51T brake out of titanium.
