    Favorite self defense rifle standards?

This Winter I thought I would work on some pseudo self defense inspired drills. Is there anything similar to pistol drills but for rifle that people like? Or just adapt pistol ones to rifle?

    Maybe this one?

Pat Rogers used to run us through the MEUSOC Qual.
Pat's 3 day carbine course was very good for this I believe.

Paul Gomez covered this well too.

I think there are at least 2 situations.

    1) Rifle gunfighting at pistol ranges, in which case pistol drills make sense because you have the same problem.
I would perhaps adjust failure drills somewhat in consideration of the power of your rifle.
ie, Using a FAL, AK, etc..... and expanding ammo I think less rounds to the body are required than with a pistol.

    2) Field / Combat use of the rifle which is more varied from contact to your maximum effective range.
Many spec ops vets are teaching this. Chuck Taylor's "Combat Rifle" was my first exposure to this.

I like the CSAT Rifle Instructor standards because they stretch to a longer distance.

Yep. I'd look at this and/or some of Pat McNamara's drills.

Hard to go wrong w/ any of Paul's standards but w/ him being a neighbor/mentor I *might* be a tad biased.
