If it all works out, Charlie, Astro and I plan to come over mid-morning on Monday and visit. Ken Campbell was kind enough to allow us to land on the range.

So jelly. Ken Campbell was the Sheriff that hosted all of the Louis Awerbuck courses I attended, I think very highly of the man. Enjoy yourselves!

I'm the guy with the Orange Tacoma with a cap and the Black Labs... in the campsite as well.
"So strong is this propensity of mankind, to fall into mutual animosities, that where no substantial occasion presents itself, the most frivolous and fanciful distinctions have been sufficient to kindle their unfriendly passions, and excite their most violent conflicts." - James Madison, Federalist No 10
Took a bit longer to get away from work than planned, longer to load the vehicle than planned, and longer to drive than planned (traffic jams, accidents on the freeway, and one DPS trooper blocking 3 travel lanes in an attempt to clear an accident from the road). But I made it (missed dinner, though), found the campsite, and got all set up.
No moonlight pics. It’s a bit chilly, or I’d be hanging out in a chair by my tent.
See everybody in the morning!
That was so freaking cool!
We were watching various rounds being shot into clear gel, when this helicopter came over a hill straight toward us and passed overhead. People were like, “What is that? Who is that?”
By then, y’all were circling and then dipped below the trees.
“That’s George and Charlie,” says I, just because of what you posted here. “George said Ken gave them permission to fly in and land out that way.”
Then like ten minutes later, y’all showed up with Darryl and Melanie.
I’m so glad I went to this. The experiences of meeting such people in real life almost outweighed the teaching.
Normally, they would not have been much interested in us visiting, but we popped in when they were gel testing. Picture Haggard shooting a single round into a gel block, setting up as deliberatively as if it was 700 yards on an elk, two guys in the front row watching Chuck, and everyone else watching the two guys watch Chuck. I swear half the guys in the back were browsing PF and the other half trying to stream porn on their phones, but because they only had one bar, it wasn’t really happening.
Great to meet you!
