Update:
Shot a match with the Range Panda shade and it worked well.
The only drawback is that the length of it affects my unloaded draw racking a little.
So today I had a thought watching people with the BSPS snap on dot occluder…
I ordered a couple and want to see if I can drill a hole in the center and still get some shading effect (like a car window visor) to reduce double dot.
Theoretically, I might be able to just do a window shade on top and still be able to track the dot superimposed on the window…

Basically the thought is to make a car shade visor.

Testing
Able to reproduce it with a very bright light.
Looks like a half shade will work well.
It’s less distracting to me than a full occluded dot.

Options for modifying might include:
1. Fine drill bit drilling holes in the shade (maybe with cutting oil so the Kydex doesn’t melt).
2. Replacing the whole window with a honeycomb wire mesh. With kydex I could melt a pocket for the mesh and epoxy it in place.

My club has a bay that faces east. The double-dot glare can be an issue in the fall/winter months if you start on that stage first thing in the morning. I resorted to doing the occluded tape thing a couple times. It worked, but the first time I did it I was glad I spent a few minutes at a nearby safety area to get my eyes accustomed to it.

This is my current iteration.
