1/2 zip Kor is under 50.00 in many sizes/colors. Seems to only have 1 big chest pocket though. I know you said you wanted a jacket, not pull over but the price is exceptional.

Jacket with hood can be had for 65ish. Colorways are "Bright"

I've got 4 or 5 different wind shirts in my gear closet and I've found the most "air-permeable" to be a Gen I Houdini. You can still find them occasionally on Ebay and backpacking Forums.

The Gen II iteration of the Houdini (which I still have) is still pretty good, but it's a slimmer cut than I prefer ... probably because I ain't slim. I think Patagonia may have changed the fabric yet again, and I have no experience with this newest version.
The path of least resistance will seldom get you where you need to be.

    Outdoor Research has the Ferrosi.
Stretch soft shell that breathes well but also keeps off light rain and wind.
Less than wind shirt, but still breaks the wind. Very soft hand for the fabric.
I have three Ferrosis and I rotate them - my daily wear 75% of the time when cool enough to wear.

Reading what info I can find about the Ferrosi. It sounds like a really good and durable option. I haven’t found many people reviewing it for running though. But breathability seems to be really good.

Eric at Soldier Systems mentioned how much he liked the Ferrosi.
I ordered one, then another, then another. Goldilocks for me.

Breathes well. That is a double-edged sword. The full zip helps with venting, but once you get fully clammy, there is only so much moisture transfer (at least for me).

I believe the fabric construction is 86% nylon and 14% spandex 90D stretch woven ripstop.

Patagonia makes great long-lasting gear – I was their biggest champion for literally decades. But if you are the type of person that likes to vote with your wallet, they have gone totally wokeasaurus.

Sorry, but figured it was worth mentioning.

Caught a Houdini Air on sale at REI. It was 25% off plus free shipping. Only size was large and only color was bright blue. They still show them in stock if anyone is looking for one. It should work well for what I need it for. I’ll update after using it for awhile.
