Despite all of the cost saving measures (modular construction, windowless room infill, etc) the estimated construction price has ballooned to $1.4 billion. That is $400,000 per bed!!

Where I work for the Feds are trying to get a new building to replace the 1950’s black mold infested current run down mess. The bids are supposedly hitting $900 a square foot for a cube farm.
