Unfortunately the defense when they had possession of the rifle, he wasn't exactly fully intelligent on it either. And obviously he's never shot a standard rifle left-handed, and you don't wind up with hot gases and brass in your face. At least I never do.
That being said, I did however very much enjoy Richards storming out of the gate and laying waste to the prosecution. His pivot then to calm prescription of facts and details I thought was well done.
