Our guy reacted so fast, the 3rd guy on the crew never even got in the door (he can be seen holding the door when the first guy gets creamed).

The 4:30am tidbit creates a contradiction here.

The news article calls him a 'former Marine' but he's apparently buying a 6-pack of Bud at 4:30am. Combined with the educational beat down he delivered, this clearly indicates he is absolutely still a Marine, even if he is not currently serving.

As a Soldier, I've noticed amongst my Marine cousins that once that switch in their heads is set to 'Marine' that shit never really switches off, and that is overwhelmingly a good thing.

He said he has been doing it in every interview but they (most) always edit it out.

If you don’t run, and first-class, a PFT while completely obliterated you don’t receive the Blessing of Chesty Puller.

If this guy ever lived in a barracks then he definitely has repetition with weapons of opportunity. Many a MP would do a barracks check on a Saturday night only to catch an unopened beer can on his windshield as soon as he parked. Or a fire extinguisher from the third floor but that’s a different story.

Camp Horno was a special place at the peak of GWOT.

    Great write up.

“Shit needed to be done,” Kilcer said. “I kind of saw what was coming my way and just, you know, I wasn’t gonna sit around and cry about it. And I just waited until he took that one extra step and — boom! — fucking hit him and just instinct kicked in.”
