No magazine safety either. How is this US made at that price point?

I really hope this thing takes off and we end up with different versions and tiers like they do with 1911's. This one being the equivalent of a mil-spec and hopefully down the road they put out a loaded model with beavertail and checkering on the grip and other upgrades. I also stand by my earlier statements about a version with a rail. Springfield is one of the few companies that I think could integrate a pic rail into the frame of the H-Power and have it look decent.
I have a Belgian FN out for customization now, but I will probably get one of these to hold me over until it gets back.
I hope they can improve the standard base plates so they are less sharp.
A welcome interruption to my Monday Zoom status meeting.
Sounds good so far...
Seems it has no firing pin safety from one review I read. I’m glad they did this, I’m sure it will sell tons, and I’m happy most people are excited, but that kills it for me.
Still, awesome that SA did this.
I can see one of these in my future. With a $700 MSRP, I wonder what street price will look like next year.

Well, shoot. I was *not* planning on liking this or buying any gun in a new platform in the future.
Hmm.
Worthy question.
-Maybe the parts are made/sourced overseas... then "made" (assembled) here?
-Maybe they're sacrificing margin for brand halo, volume, etc.
Or...
-Maybe we should concede that American gun companies have been extorting us for $1000++ metal-framed guns over the past decade?
