Top is a Model 66, bottom is a 65 LS that the previous owner sent to the Smith custom shop for a carry action job and had the LS engraved side plate replaced with a non-engraved one. My favorite K Frame.

The 66-8 pictured in the previous post after Mr. Fink at the Gunsite Gunsmithy did a carry action job, installed a non-MIM trigger and replaced the Baughman front sight with a Patridge sight with gold bead.

Very nice. How do you like those grips on it?

I didn’t think I’d like the grips because they’re so smooth, as it turns out I like them a lot.

    How are they with magnums?

I was surprised I like smooth grips on revolvers as well. I think it's because I'm removing my grip every six rounds anyways. I also think the shape of the grip and the recoil act to keep my hand where I want it.

Unknown as I don’t shoot magnums in K Frames. In fact I rarely shoot +P. In this revolver I’ve shot a lot of Norma 158 FMJ (nominal 960 FPS) and BB 150 HCWC. A bit of 125-130ish +P. None were obnoxious.
