    Hammer shrouds, and you're not wrong. One is a lot. Those look properly installed too, which ani't easy by any means.

    I thought very seriously about putting one of those shrouds on my own Detective Special when they were still being made. I never did so because I was concerned about holster compatibility (holsters with thumb break retention straps), and because I had read things about the bottom end of the shroud causing discomfort during recoil.

    Two were drilled at the factory, the other two by Karl Sokol and are the old Waller versions.
