This saddens me to hear. General Powell was an excellent statesman. One of the few who I believe genuinely cared about the American people and not about politicians. We are diminished as a country for this loss.
I hope his family finds some peace in knowing he is not suffering in pain.
Rest in Peace.
Here is a nice interview he did on his experiences and lessons learned from Vietnam.

While I have not cared for his politics over the last decade or so, he had a honorable and distinguished military career. Was inspired by his book in the mid 90s.
RIP General

His was the best autobiography that I've ever read. Incredible. Later, I had the pleasure of listening to the audiobook. Unabridged, read by the man himself. Awesome.
Both are highly recommended.
A life well-lived. I am grateful that such a man lived.
Be at peace, sir.

A good man gone.
