Thread: CZ Kadet dot cut?

    CZ Kadet dot cut?

    The Kadet kits are back in stock at this point, for just about $300, so it seems like with 9mm ammo hovering between maybe $350-$400 and alleged to be going up again in the new year, this might be a good investment...but only if I can get a dot added. Does anyone use a Kadet 22 with a red dot on a P07 or similar pistol? I guess I should also be asking whether Jagerwerks/Primary/whatever does slide cuts for the Kadets. I assume the internals are significantly different than on the normal slides. Thanks for any insights!

    @Moylan

    Part of the issue is that the Kadet slides are aluminum so milling can be a little tough.

    My solution was a dovetail mounted optic mount (I had to do some filing, Dremeling and fitting [of the mount] and I use E6000 so less wiggling). I picked light weight optics like the Burris FF3 and the Romeo Zero (brighter).

    Overall, I don’t think it’s that helpful because you can do most of non recoil stuff in dry. And recoil stuff needs recoil.

    Thanks! Sounds like this might not work.

    I see your point about recoil, and I think it makes sense. But on the other hand, I like to shoot, and dry fire doesn't really cover it. 22's don't necessarily really cover it, either, but at least they're actually shooting.

    If you have a CZ 75 that you could put a Kadet or Kadet 2 on, you can add a red dot by mounting a Weaver base to the top of the conversion. A friend at the local club did mine. He uses a #62 base and mills a slight groove to fit over the rib on the slide. Since the slide doesn't reciprocate, it doesn't affect operation at all. If I remove the Holosun, the irons sights are still useable (with my eyes, marginally useable). I'm sorry this wont be much help with your P07 but another CZ is never a bad idea! 😁

    That’s pretty slick!

    I drilled and tapped one of my frames to accept the three hole TSO mount.
