Help me set up a G26 with an optic for carry.

Guys I don't know shit about optics on a carry pistol.

    1. What dot?
    2. What cut and who to send it to.
    3. Mounting plate?
    4. BUIS ?

    And what else?

This is on a G26.5 for carry.

    1. I chose an RMRcc for my 26.5, I have a full size RMR on a 19.5 and prefer the more compact sight’s design and width on the 26.
    2. I went with Battle Werx, and all the way back. They can always cut a forward position rear sight dovetail if I decide I really need irons.
    3. None - direct milled.
    4. None.

I like it well enough that I just sent a 43 slide to them for the same style cut, and after that I’ll send my 27.5 to be cut for the RMR that is currently on the 19.5 when the ACRO for that arrives.

I’m going with an RM06 and Ameriglo GL429s, rear dovetail in the original location.

A shop in Georgia is doing it, should be back in a couple weeks. They did my 19, they do great work but aren’t really in the habit of doing slides so I’m hesitant to post their info.

    26.5 MOS. It’s coming.

Though I was impatient and had 26.4 cut for an RMR by onesourcetactical. Set of black on black irons. If I were starting from scratch now I might pick a slimmer optic too.

And get some gee plates for your flush mags like HeavyDuty has. They make a big difference for me on the draw when using the short mags.

Every time I ask Smyrna about the 26 MOS they get that deer in the headlight look as expressed in an email. In the end I decided direct mill was my best bet for a RMRcc.

    1. How good are you with red dots?
    2. How good are you willing to get?

Those questions would dictate what advice I would give you.

If you’re not good with dots and you don’t plan on attaining proficiency with them, I’d look to get into red dots like “augmented irons.” Which means you’ll make sure you have irons that are as functional as any other gun you have.

The better you are or better you plan on becoming, the more priority you can give the selection of dot over irons.

I keep coming back to look at this pic. I like how you have that set up.

Disregard Sinn, I was mocking people posting expensive watches next to expensive 1911s.

6.5 RMR, Ameriglo supp sights (not sure if angle hides them or installed after), Maple Leaf.
Doesn't read posts longer than two paragraphs.

I’ve been noticing a real upswing of interest in compact pistols with RDS. I blame @Nephrology, he was my main bad influence.
