See, there's a problem with carrying a 100 pound bag around to prove I'm able bodied. First, the mother-in-law wouldn't appreciate me carrying her anywhere and second, she looks to be closer to 250.
We wish to thank the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement, without whose assistance this program would not have been possible.
It's a down-to-earth test, a practical one. So since she's 250, I'd cut the distance to say 400 yards. Then depending on how mean she is and if she's sober or not during the test I might cut it down to about 50.
I'd allow it.
I routinely walk 5-6 miles at a brisk pace with 40 lbs of built-in extra weight...
Adding a mere extra 60 lbs for only a mile would be almost like cheating
Now, to put a time limit would make things interesting.
After Hurricane Sandy and some local rains killed our barn driveway, I carried 100# feed bags close to 200 yards to the dry barn. I think it was around 8-10 bags if I remember right and I wasn't much heavier than them at the time. It wasn't fun and my lower back was wrecked for a few days after.
One trip ought to be doable, but being a boomer topic I guess this is also a uphill both ways in the snow kinda thing too.
